Lake of the Prairies

Fishing, camping and boating are just a few of the activities available to do at this beautiful lake that sits right along the boarder of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. There are fishing tournaments in the summer and ice shack rentals in the winter, surely something to suit your interests and make you vacation a lot of fun!

Russell, MB

The town of Russell is a laid back community perfect for a day trip with the family as there is something for everyone to do. Visit Bin 22 for a specialty coffee or Connie's Drive In for lunch during the summer months. If you're looking for some retail therapy you can check out Hometown Glory, Cut & Dried, Prairie Collective Co. or CP Casuals for your shopping needs.

Russell also offers many recreational activities including swimming, curling and hockey rinks, tennis courts, ball diamonds and a nine hole golf course.

Roblin, MB

Known as the Jewel of the Parkland, Roblin is a small own central to Lake of the Prairies and Asessippi Ski area. The perfect place to stop for lunch at Doris' Pizza or grab a coffee with friends at Market Made.

On the South side of Roblin you'll find Goose Lakes, the perfect stop for some fishing or a hot-dog roast with the family. There is also the option to camp next to Goose Lake, where the town has recently built new bathrooms and installed campsite services. 

Other recreational activities that Roblin offers include swimming, skating, golfing and snowmobiling. The local Sporting goods store on main street, Roblin Work & Sport Den, can supply all your hunting, fishing and camping needs.

Inglis, MB

A hidden gem just two miles off of Highway 8, near the Riding Mountain Park. This friendly little town is steeped in prairie history. Explore five, original, slope-shouldered wooden grain elevators built in the golden age of Canada‚Äôs grain trade.


Five minutes North of Inglis you'll find St. Elijah Pioneer museum, an early Romanian settlement that was established more than 100 years ago. Church services are still held there once per month.

Rivendell Cross Country Skiing

Located just west of highway 83 between Russell & Roblin.

Approximately 5 minutes north of Asessippi Ski Area.

25 kms of groomed and tracked trails follow the

beautiful Assiniboine Valley. The trails follow terrain

suitable for beginner to expert skiers.

The Moose Lake Cross-Country Ski Trail is located at the southwest corner of Riding Mountain National Park at Silver Creek off PR264. The trail loops for approximately 10 km (6 miles) through aspen deciduous forest over moderately undulating terrain. There is a warming hut located near the shores of Moose Lake approximately 3 km from the trailhead.
